In this sermon Tim begins a series on the scope and intent of Christ’s Atonement.
Tim examines the common view that God intended for the death of Jesus to pay for the sins of all people. The Bible says that God desires all people to be saved. Does this mean that God’s will is frustrated? Do we serve a God who is limited by the free choice of men?
Some errors are clearly to be rejected. God does not save all people; some people will spend eternity in hell. God is all-powerful and capable of anything He desires. God is all-knowing and is not surprised by human choices.
In further messages, we will see how a proper understanding of Scripture will lead to an orthodox and accurate understanding of the Atonement.
